In 2008, after selling the Château de Husson for family inheritance reasons, an estate which had been in their family for 5 generations, Bernard and Jérôme GRANGET decided to create a new wine production plant in the Commune of Courthézon, which is now called the “Domaine Le Jas des Papes”.
The vineyards of the estate extend over the two communes of COURTHÉZON and BÉDARRIDES. They are located on an exposed hillside and form part of the CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE appellation. The soil here is made up of pebbles rubbed smooth by the River Rhône and dating back to the Tertiary Period.
The vineyards occupy an 8 hectare site and are planted with traditional wine varieties (Grenache noir, Syrah, Cinsault, Clairette Blanche).
